Neck computed tomography

It is indicated for the study of the different pathologies and structures of the neck (arteries, veins, ganglions, glands,...).

For its preparation, it is necessary a previous fasting of 6 hours (3 in diabetic patients), not being necessary the suspension of any treatment and being able to drink water during the 6 hours of fasting.

Once prepared and inside the machine, the scanning time does not usually exceed 15 minutes.

Normally, for the correct performance of this study it is necessary to inject iodinated contrast through the vein, which will provide us with a better characterization and differentiation of structures.
